11 November, Canada., Flanders, poppies, Remembrance, Souvenir
I am putting up this new header for Remembrance Day – Le jour du Souvenir, 11 November in memory for all Canadians who served in the Great War 1914-1918 and in other World conflicts, 1939-1945, Korea, Afghanistan and now Iraq and Syria.
Poppies are a typical Canadian symbol of Remembrance since they can be found in Flanders (France-Belgium) and are worn from 1 November to 11 November.
I bought my poppy badge today. I’ll be tuning into the cenotaph ceremony in Whitehall on Sunday. I always find it moving.

I didn’t know poppies were worn in November in Canada. Love the new banner. I always like your banners.

poppies are a very big thing here in West..seems that when the first wave of Czech’s came to Texas they had brought poppy seeds with them and would scatter them along the railroad tracks to welcome the next wave of Czech’s that came behind them…
