The header photo is of the Confederation Bridge built in 1997 to connect the mainland of Canada to the Province of Prince Edward Island. It takes 10 minutes at a speed of no more than 60Km to cross over the sea Straits of Northumberland a distance of 12.5 Km. A marvel of 20th century engineering, designed by Jean M. Muller a French engineer. In this photo the view is of PEI as you drive from the mainland.
I will be crossing it on Wednesday 11 May.

In 1997!!! Almost twenty years already! Time is spinning by so quickly, think I need to sit down. Say…. aren’t you the guy who used to post about being bored in Ottawa….. and now you moved to Prince Edward Island? I must be missing something here, was Toronto and Vancouver filled up, no more room? Sorry I couldn’t miss the opportunity to tease. Note to self, must harass Will next.

When you drive over it, make a wish, say a prayer, and consciously ponder on the day to set it into your memory.

Maybe a good setting for collaboration between PEI and mainland police like the Danish/Swedish thriller The Bridge?

In this case the RCMP provides security and all police activities in the Maritimes. One police force does it all.
