About 8 days ago our washing machine died all of a sudden massive failure. We had to empty it by hand and then try to get it replaced. That was the easy part but because of COVID 19 deliveries are difficult and take up to a week or more. So we have been stockpiling dirty laundry ever since. I had a notion to do like in the old days and take the wash down to the river and pound it on the rocks. That would have attracted attention.
Today the machine was finally delivered. We will try to get through what will be many loads of washing in as short a time as possible.
Funny how we become slaves to the machines and how maroon we are when one gives up the ghost. Same applies for any appliance, computer, phone etc.
I am not going to say like. I am happy you have your new machine. However after my experience with the type of machine you now have when you lived in Aylmer I do not like. I remember the bed sheets ending up in a ball and wondered how well they have been cleaned. I much prefer the front loading machine which I have and you used to have although you do have to keep the door open so that mould does not grow. The method used by the front loaders is the same method used of slapping the laundry when laundry was done by the river. I find the front loader washes better with less damage to the laundry. As well. with the spin cycle much more water is removed thereby taking much less time to dry. Hope you enjoy your new washer.

Comme j’habite une petite ville Charlottetown, il n’y a pas de buanderie libre service comme dans une grande ville. Des amis ont offert de m’aider entre temps et la question est maintenant règler.

Oh, that’s a lot of laundry to catch up on. Fortunately, it’s a lot less than it would be normally be since you haven’t been going out on the town. Enjoy the new machine.
