This past week has been mad crazy with cruise ships and guided tours, lots of people and lots of funny questions which often leaves me wondering how am I going to answer this question. A lady asked my while we were driving through the countryside and looking at farms and fields and harvesting of hay or potatoes, if there was any whales, are we going to see whales she said. I was surprised and did not know what to say. She went on to say, I have not seen one whale yet. I told her that since she was sailing to Quebec City she probably would see some on the way.
The weather and other event can delay a cruise ship and we had delays in arrivals up to 90 minutes, this causes chaos on tours, everything is delayed except departure time which remains always the same at 04:30pm all aboard time.
This morning the fog was so thick that we heard the horns of the ship as it was coming in but could not even from the dock see the actual cruise ship. Suddenly it appears like in a dream still shrouded in fog. The thick fog finally lifted at noon time, it was romantic in a way and fog always dampens all noise. Everywhere cormorants just sitting quietly, they would not fly in this fog.
I have been told that Sunday morning I will be conducting a tour with a majority of Italian speaking visitors around the Island. So I am preparing accordingly and will deliver some of my notes in Italian. I am looking forward to it. Again this is a full day tour and will be quite tiring.
Then I have more touring on Tuesday 3 Oct. so it keeps me busy all around. The ships are also getting bigger and more crowded. In a small town like Charlottetown it is becoming a serious problem. But one that is strictly seasonal and in a few weeks will be over.

Today I did bartender duty at the Club, we were short of staff and I have my licence as a bartender, it was great fun. I got to see how people order drinks, I want a white wine one says, what type of white wine, Pino Grigio, Chardonnay, Sauvignon etc… Blank stare I don’t know what ever is good. LOL!!!! Same with red wines, no idea. Then one person ordered a very expensive Single Malt Scotch on the rocks with club soda and a dash of cranberry juice with a straw. Another ordered a Bloody Cesar, Canada’s Official Cocktail but without spices, basically vodka and Clamato juice, not really a Cesar. People are funny. One lady said I will drink anything, what do you have? Well it’s a fully stocked bar you know. I have become aware through time that many people have no taste for alcohol, they simply drink because others drink and anything goes.
